Official response and confirmed impact
Seth Moulton, former Andover Select Board member Dan Koh, and Marblehead immigration attorney Diann Baylis earned strong support from local voters in three of the most closely watched races in the Sept.
1 state primary, according to official election results.
Marblehead recorded 5,791 ballots, including 4,919 Democratic ballots and 872 Republican ballots, according to the town’s certified election results. Turnout was 37.5%.
Moulton defeated U.S. Sen.
Ed Markey 2,946-1,917 in the Democratic Senate primary, receiving 60.6% of the votes cast for the two candidates.
Moulton carried all six precincts. His largest margin came in Precinct 4, where he defeated Markey 519-267.
He also received more than 500 votes in precincts 1 and 6.
