Barnegat, New Jersey Man Killed Wife Before Stabbing Self: Prosecutor

BARNEGAT, New Jersey — BARNEGAT, NJ — A Barnegat man is accused of killing his wife before stabbing himself in the chest, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office said.

William Garvin, 67, is charged with murder in the death of his wife Eileen Garvin, 69, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.

At about 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 7, Barnegat police went to a Windward Drive home for a domestic violence incident, Billhimer said.

When police entered the house, they found William Garvin sitting in a chair with a knife sticking out of his chest, Billhimer said.
