FAA Implements Weather-Related Flight Routing Restrictions in Denver Airspace

The Federal Aviation Administration implemented new weather-related routing restrictions affecting Denver airspace Monday evening as storms disrupted normal flight paths across the region.

The FAA issued the advisory at approximately 3:30 p.m. MDT on August 31, saying Denver Center was implementing coded departure routes because of weather conditions.

Airlines Told to Carry Additional Fuel

The FAA advised flight operators to plan accordingly and carry sufficient fuel as aircraft may need to use alternate routes.

The restrictions are scheduled to affect Denver-area airspace through Monday evening and into the night as weather conditions continue to impact air traffic operations.
