A sign has fallen onto people at the Big Church Festival near Steyning, leaving multiple attendees injured and prompting a major emergency response.

Police Confirm Sign Fell on Festival Attendees

Sussex Police said officers were called to the event on Washington Road at around 3:38pm following reports that a sign had collapsed and injured several people.

Police remain at the scene alongside ambulance crews, critical care paramedics and specialist response teams. At least six patients have been confirmed.

A livestream broadcasting the Christian music festival was temporarily suspended due to “unforeseen circumstances” as emergency services responded.
