Motive still unknown Billings, Montana shooting, house fire

BILLINGS, Montana — Billings authorities are sharing new insight on what investigators are calling a devastating mass shooting.
Eight members of the same family including four children, were killed during a family gathering when a man opened fire and then set the house ablaze.
The Yellowstone County Sheriff's Office confirmed in a press conference Wednesday the identities of the victims and the name of the suspected gunman who opened fire during a family dinner Sunday evening.
This comes after relatives identified the man as 44-year-old Alan Michael Smith earlier this week.
