Flood Warning Extended in Central Illinois as High Water Threat Continues
The National Weather Service has extended a Flood Warning for portions of central Illinois Saturday morning, as excessive rainfall continues to cause flooding across the region.
The latest warning update was issued at 7:23 a.m. CDT, covering parts of Fulton, Knox, Mason, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.
Flooding Continues Across the Area
Heavy rainfall from overnight thunderstorms has left roads and low-lying locations vulnerable to flooding, with high water continuing across portions of central Illinois.
The National Weather Service is urging motorists to avoid flooded roads and warning that water may be deeper than it appears.
The warning remains in effect as authorities and forecasters continue monitoring conditions across the affected counties.
