Conor Kennedy Wanted by Russia as Moscow Issues Arrest Warrant for RFK Jr.’s Son
Conor Kennedy, the son of U.S. Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., is wanted by Russian authorities after a Moscow court issued an arrest warrant for him in absentia.
Russian authorities have accused Kennedy of participating as a mercenary in the war in Ukraine, where he previously served with Ukraine’s International Legion.
The Moscow court also placed Kennedy on an international wanted list, according to Russian judicial authorities.
Conor Kennedy Fought in Ukraine
Kennedy has previously spoken publicly about traveling to Ukraine in 2022 and joining Ukrainian forces following Russia’s invasion.
He said at the time that he had limited military experience before joining the conflict and that he did not initially tell most members of his family about his decision.
Russian authorities have pursued criminal cases against a number of foreign nationals accused of fighting alongside Ukrainian forces.
Russia Seeks Kennedy’s Arrest
The arrest order was issued in absentia, meaning Kennedy was not present in Russia when the court approved the measure.
There is currently no indication that Kennedy is in Russian custody.
The case adds another high-profile American name to Russia’s list of foreign nationals facing criminal accusations connected to the war in Ukraine.
