Update: 4.6 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Near Tehran, Iran

Update: Seismology data indicates the earthquake that jolted Tehran measured 4.6 magnitude on the Richter scale.

Officials said the quake’s epicenter was located near Pardis, east of Tehran, at a depth of approximately 10 kilometers.

The nearest populated areas included Pardis, Boumehen, and Rudhen in Tehran Province.

Residents across parts of the capital region reported feeling the shaking.

No immediate reports of major damage or casualties have been released as authorities continue monitoring the situation.
