France Reports First Confirmed Hantavirus Case

French health authorities have announced the country’s first confirmed case of hantavirus. The patient is a French woman who was among the passengers aboard the cruise ship “MV Hondius.” Medical tests confirmed the infection after she was evacuated to Paris.
France’s Health Minister also stated that 22 contact cases have been identified across the country, with strict health monitoring measures put in place for people linked to the ship
