A critical incident investigation is underway after a man was shot by police in Potts Point, Sydney, Australia.
Police were called to a unit complex on St Neot Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m. following reports that an armed man had entered the building and allegedly assaulted two women.
According to authorities, officers initially deployed a Taser in an attempt to subdue the man, but it was ineffective. Police allege the man then threatened attending officers with a weapon, prompting one officer to discharge a firearm.
The man was shot at the scene. His condition has not yet been publicly confirmed.
