Former Gov. Newsom Chief of Staff Arrested by FBI in Corruption Probe
San Francisco, CA — The FBI has arrested Gavin Newsom’s former chief of staff Dana Williamson, as part of a public corruption investigation.
Court documents reveal that between February 2022 and September 2024, Williamson allegedly conspired with others to divert roughly $225,000 from a dormant political campaign. The funds were reportedly funneled to an associate’s personal accounts through multiple business entities and disguised as payments for a no-show job.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the scheme, and no additional details regarding charges or court appearances have been released.
