Ecuador Nightclub Shooting Kills 8, Injures 3 in Guayas Province

Deadly Ecuador nightclub shooting leaves multiple victims in Santa Lucía, authorities investigate

Ecuador nightclub shooting

A tragic Ecuador nightclub shooting occurred on Sunday in the rural area of Santa Lucía, located in the Guayas province. Authorities confirmed that eight people were killed and three others injured in the violent attack.

The heavily armed suspects, arriving on motorcycles and in two vehicles, opened fire inside the nightclub, leading to chaos and devastation. Seven victims, aged between 20 and 40, died at the scene while the eighth succumbed to injuries in the hospital.

This Ecuador nightclub shooting is the latest violent episode in a country already struggling with rising crime rates. It follows another deadly attack two days prior, where gunmen assaulted a boat near El Oro province, killing four and causing others to go missing.

The Guayas province, along with El Oro, Manabí, and Los Ríos, remains under a state of emergency as authorities battle organized crime linked to drug cartels. These groups are reportedly involved in expanding narcotics trafficking routes through the Pacific region to Central America, the United States, and Europe.

So far this year, Ecuador has seen over 4,600 killings, highlighting a worrying trend in violence despite a slight drop from last year’s record numbers.

Authorities continue to investigate the motives behind the Ecuador nightclub shooting and have vowed to bring the perpetrators to justice.
