SLOAN, N.Y. — A shocking incident unfolded Sunday morning when a two-Year-Old Shot in Sloan, prompting a swift response and investigation by the Cheektowaga Police Department.

Officers were called to a residence on Lackawanna Avenue around 10:30 a.m. after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, they discovered that the only person injured in the shooting was a young child. The 2-year-old was rushed to Children’s Hospital, where doctors confirmed the child is in stable condition.


Suspects Identified After 2-Year-Old Shot in Sloan

Authorities say the shooting stemmed from a confrontation between two adults. The first suspect, 19-year-old Shannon Rose of Buffalo, is believed to be the only person who fired a weapon during the incident. He was arrested at the scene and now faces charges of:

  • Second-degree assault
  • Criminal possession of a firearm

The second suspect, 20-year-old Marcus Oluwa Jr. of Lackawanna, was found later in the City of Buffalo with assistance from the Buffalo Police Department and New York State Police. He was also arrested and charged with:

  • Second-degree criminal possession of a weapon
  • Third-degree criminal possession of a weapon

Neighbor Recounts Shocking Scene as two-Year-Old Shot in Sloan

A neighbor’s Ring camera captured the moment police apprehended a suspect. The video has since circulated on social media and was shared by local outlet 7 News WKBW.

Speaking to reporters, a next-door neighbor expressed emotional distress over the incident:

“I’m at a loss for words… a 2-year-old… it makes you wanna cry. I just hope they’re okay.”
