Three Men Charged After Assaults on Toronto Parking Enforcement Officers

TORONTO — Three men are facing charges after two separate assaults on Parking Enforcement officers occurred in Toronto within just over 24 hours last week, according to Toronto Police.
The first incident took place around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday near Jarvis and Carlton Streets. Police say a Parking Enforcement officer was issuing a parking violation when a man allegedly became agitated and assaulted the officer. The suspect, Yai Bol Dau, 39, of St. Catharines, was arrested at the scene and charged with assaulting a peace officer. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 18.
The second incident occurred Friday just before 11:30 a.m. in the area of Avenue Road and Glengarry Avenue, north of Lawrence Avenue West. Two men allegedly approached a Parking Enforcement officer while a violation was being issued and assaulted him. Both suspects were arrested shortly afterward.
Mehmet Yilmaz, 54, of Toronto, and Ercan Yilmaz, 56, of Mississauga, are each charged with assaulting a peace officer. They are scheduled to appear in court on August 13.
