Delta Jet Makes Emergency Landing on Remote Island After Engine Trouble Over Atlantic

A Delta Airlines flight carrying nearly 300 passengers and crew was forced to make an emergency landing on a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean after experiencing engine problems mid-flight, according to NBC News.

The transatlantic flight, en route to its destination, encountered mechanical trouble that prompted the crew to divert the aircraft to the nearest available airstrip — located on a small island in the middle of the ocean. All passengers were safely evacuated upon landing.
