Delta Jet Makes Emergency Landing on Remote Island After Engine Trouble Over Atlantic

Delta Jet Makes Emergency

A Delta Airlines flight carrying nearly 300 passengers and crew was forced to make an emergency landing on a remote island in the Atlantic Ocean after experiencing engine problems mid-flight, according to NBC News.

The transatlantic flight, en route to its destination, encountered mechanical trouble that prompted the crew to divert the aircraft to the nearest available airstrip — located on a small island in the middle of the ocean. All passengers were safely evacuated upon landing.

Stranded for the night, travelers were accommodated on the island until alternative arrangements could be made. Delta has since issued an apology and is coordinating to reunite passengers with their intended destinations as quickly as possible.

The airline is investigating the cause of the engine issue and emphasized that the crew followed protocol to ensure passenger safety throughout the ordeal.
