CHICAGO (WLS) – Police are investigating a chilling incident in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood after a fatal stabbing and fire at a home on the morning of July 4th.
According to authorities, a 45-year-old woman allegedly stabbed three children, killing one, before setting the house on fire. The tragic event unfolded inside a home, where a plume of smoke could be seen rising into the sky, signaling the intensity of the blaze.
Neighbors were left in shock after hearing the horrifying details of the woman’s attack on the children. Angie Perez, a nearby resident, described the scene as “devastating,” saying, “You never want to hear that anyone’s life is taken, especially a child.”
Details of the Incident:
The investigation began with a medical emergency call shortly after 9 a.m., leading officers to the home. As they arrived, they discovered a working fire and a bloody crime scene inside. One officer reported hearing a child screaming for help from a basement window. “I got this child yelling for help out the basement window,” an unknown officer can be heard saying in a radio transmission. “We’re trying to get her out of the window. I do see blood.”
Inside, investigators found that the children had been stabbed multiple times, with the youngest victim, a 4-year-old boy identified as Jordan Wallace by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office, succumbing to the injuries.
