Large Fire Rips Through Brooklyn Building, Spreads to Neighbors

A massive fire tore through a residential building in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn on Wednesday afternoon, damaging adjacent structures and prompting a large emergency response.

Flames engulfed the building at the intersection of Stuyvesant and Lafayette Avenues just after 1:30 p.m., quickly escalating to a three-alarm fire. The blaze spread rapidly to nearby buildings, sending thick smoke into the sky and forcing evacuations.

📹 Footage from the scene showed firefighters battling intense flames from rooftops as they worked to contain the blaze.

According to CBS News New York, multiple fire units responded swiftly to prevent further damage and assist residents. No serious injuries have been reported so far, but the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
