UPDATE 2: Garda Statement on Shooting Incident at Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow

An Garda Síochána has released an official statement regarding the shooting incident at Fairgreen Shopping Centre in Carlow town.

Gardaí responded promptly after the alarm was raised shortly after 6:15 PM at a retail premises. The site has been evacuated and preserved, and the Army Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team has been called in to assist.

Authorities confirm that there is currently no further concern for public safety.

The Gardaí urge anyone who recorded footage of the incident not to share it on social media or messaging apps, but to provide it directly to Carlow Garda Station.
