A member of Royal Navy personnel has died after a Merlin helicopter ditched in the English Channel while conducting a night-flying exercise.
The Ministry of Defence confirmed a Merlin Mk4 ditched in the sea during the exercise from the HMS Queen Elizabeth. It is currently unknown what caused the accident and an investigation has been launched.
