Northern Lights to dazzle Britain – when to look into night sky

Skywatchers have been told to keep a close eye out as an orange alert was put out for an aurora this evening. 

The phenomena has appeared regularly in the UK over the last few months to the joy of many, who share their pictures online. They are not usually seen in the south of England, where it is generally only seen when there is a strong geomagnetic storm.
