BBC issue heartbreaking statement after colleague’s wife and daughters found dead at home

The murders of the wife and two daughters of BBC sports commentator John Hunt are “utterly devastating”, the BBC has said in a statement. 

In a note to BBC 5 Live staff the organisation described the incident which involved the deaths of the wife and daughters of racing commentator John Hunt as “utterly devastating”. The note read: “The news today about John Hunt’s family is utterly devastating. Our thoughts are with John and his family at this incredibly difficult time and we will provide him with all the support we can.”

Carol Hunt, 61, and two daughters Hannah Hunt, 28, and Louise Hunt, 26, were reported seriously injured at the home on Tuesday evening. All three of them were later pronounced dead, despite the best efforts of medics.
