one person dead, another injured in Allentown shooting

A 22-year-old man was killed after he was shot in Allentown on Sunday afternoon.

Allentown police said in a news release that officers were called the area of the 1800 block of South Fifth Street for a report of shots being fired there about 3 p.m. Minutes later, a gunshot victim arrived at a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police identified the victim as Edgar Gonzalez of Allentown.

Shortly after, a second gunshot wound victim arrived at a hospital. That victim’s injuries are not life-threatening.
