Police cordon erected and CSI at scene of reported ‘armed robbery’ at Post Office

Police have descended on the scene of a reported ‘attempted robbery’ on Teesside.
Multiple Cleveland Police vehicles were spotted outside of Rimswell shops on Thursday, June 1, after witnesses reported that there had been an ‘attempted robbery’ inside of Rimswell Post Office in Fairfield. A cordon was erected at the scene at around 4.30pm, where police tape surrounded the Post Office, preventing shoppers from accessing the store.
A crime scene investigation van was also pictured parked outside of the unit, which neighbours Cooplands Bakery. While the nature of the incident is not yet clear, witnesses claim that there was an attempted robbery at the Post Office around an hour before it was due to close at 5.30pm.
