Dubuque police confirm that a man was fatally shot tonight in downtown Dubuque.
The man’s name has not been released yet, as authorities work to notify his family.
Few details were immediately available, but Dubuque police said they received a report of the shooting just before 7 p.m. and responded to 1913 Central Ave. A man who had been shot was taken to MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
