Helicopter crashes while fighting wildfires in Uiseong, South Korea

A helicopter deployed for firefighting in the Uiseong area of North Gyeongsang Province has crashed.

According to forestry authorities, the helicopter, which was fighting a forest fire in Uiseong-gun, crashed in the area of Gyoan 2-ri, Sinpyeong-myeon at 12:54 PM. A witness nearby reported that the helicopter had crashed, and an investigation into the exact circumstances of the accident is underway.

The crashed helicopter is reported to belong to a local government, and it is estimated that one pilot was onboard. As of now, the exact details regarding any casualties have not been confirmed.
