Romania Scrambles F-16s After Airspace Incursion From Moldova

Romania’s Defence Ministry said an aerial target entered the country’s airspace without authorization from Moldova on Saturday, October 31, according to public broadcaster TVR.

Four Romanian F-16 fighter jets and an IAR-330 SOCAT helicopter were deployed. Authorities issued RO-Alert warnings in Iași, Neamț, Vaslui, Bacău and Botoșani counties, advising residents to seek shelter and stay away from windows.

Falcon Intel separately reported tracking a drone traveling at approximately 179 km/h from northern Moldova toward Romania’s Botoșani area, near the Edineț–Briceni border region. Those specific tracking details have not been independently verified.
