Tacoma Narrows Bridge Lanes Reopen Early Toward Gig Harbor, Washington

All lanes across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge toward Gig Harbor, Washington, have reopened more than a week ahead of schedule following maintenance work, state transportation officials announced Friday.

The Washington State Department of Transportation credited advance preparation and favorable weather for completing the work early.

The closures allowed crews to replace a partial expansion joint on the westbound span, restoring full access for drivers using State Route 16.
