Spivey’s Corner VFD earns improved rural fire rating after state inspection

SPIVEY'S CORNER, Sampson County — Spivey’s Corner Volunteer Fire Department has received an improved rating after a routine inspection by the N.C. The rating is scheduled to take effect Feb.

The department received a rural rating of 4/9E. State officials say inspections review staffing, equipment, equipment maintenance, communication capabilities and water availability.
