France Urges Households to Prepare 72-Hour Emergency Kits

French authorities advise households to prepare an emergency kit containing enough essential supplies to remain self-sufficient for three days during a crisis.
The guidance recommends drinking water, non-perishable food, a flashlight, a battery-powered radio, first-aid supplies and necessary medication.
Other recommended items include warm clothing, a survival blanket, a phone charger, cash, copies of essential documents and spare keys.
Residents should keep their kits accessible, check the contents annually and replace supplies after use. The kits can help during disruptions to essential services or an evacuation.
