Providence school chief is planning his exit amid leadership upheaval

Montañez and Providence School Board President Ty’Relle Stephens declined to comment. The board has instead decided to hire a “certified restorative practitioner” to help members resolve their differences.

The school board is facing its own turmoil, with Stephens recently surviving an effort to oust him as president by several of his colleagues.
