Barren County High School goes all in on Red Ribbon Week

The campaign began in California after the killing of DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena in Mexico. Youth service center coordinator Shelly Thomas said the week now covers far more than drugs and alcohol.

First lady Nancy Reagan declared it a national campaign in 1988 to honor his sacrifice and discourage drug use in schools.
