Le Patin Libre’s ‘Melt’ reimagines skating at the Barclay

Gliding across the stage in a 1990s prototype of roller skates, they told their story. Monochromatic lighting mirrored the tension, with spotlights haloed around each retreating figure.

The program opened with percussive pulses, as the two skaters drew near each other before being forcibly drawn apart by a rope harness.
