More than 2,000 attend Youth in Aviation Day at Eastern Iowa Airport

More than 2,000 people came out Saturday for a free event at the Eastern Iowa Airport that gave families a chance to explore aviation. Kirkwood Community College opened its aviation maintenance hangar, and Coe College’s flight school was also open to visitors.

The airport’s second annual Youth in Aviation Day featured aircraft displays, aviation activities and opportunities to talk with pilots and mechanics.
