Shooting at Bluffton hotel Sept. 27 leads to arrest of Illinois man

An Illinois man was arrested Sept. 27 after a shooting at a Bluffton hotel which left another man injured, a Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Tadeo Nicolas Torres Barrera, 19, of Rochelle, Illinois, was arrested for attempted murder and was being held at the Beaufort County Detention Center, the spokesperson said.

The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Sunday night, police said.

Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the Holiday Inn, located at 35 Bluffton Road, following a report of a shooting.
