AT USC, THE SCHOOL OF SCANDALS, IT’S TIME TO FIRE LINCOLN RILEY AND HIS DIRTY PROGRAM

In the fearful vein of Los Angeles itself — wildfires that swallow towns, homeless people without hope, wretched politicians, heat waves, clogged freeways, a declining population, crooked wealthy men, prayers for the Olympics — what would we expect from USC but a filthy program?

Isn’t the university, on the edge of a deplorable downtown, the ageless setting of scandals?

Next up would be coach Lincoln Riley, who should be fired because he has been around too long, and linebacker Desman Stephens II, who still might be raising his hands at the Coliseum after smacking Dante Moore’s head with so much force he was taken to a hospital.

Understand that about West Coast football, where Oregon has tried to rule southern California.

And imagine what came from coach Dan Lanning’s mouth when he noted he’s 3-0 against the Trojans.

“I guess if you’re a good football player in the area, you should come to Oregon,” he said.

“Or you can stay in LA and go to a Chris Brown concert.” Back in time, Brown was arrested for assaulting Rihanna.

That would be Lanning’s way of defaming USC, perhaps knowing Brown was in town the night before at SoFi Stadium.
