Fierce nor’easter winds knock out power to thousands — N.J. live power outage tracker

Thousands of homes and businesses were without power across New Jersey on Sunday as a fierce nor'easter continues to lash the state with gusty winds, heavy rain and coastal flooding.

NJ.com's Power Outage Tracker, which monitors reports from the four major utility companies in the state, showed nearly 9,000 customers in the dark as of 7:45 a.m.

Sunday. The statewide total rose to 22,000 outages by 9:30 a.m.

High wind warnings and wind advisories remain in effect on Sunday, with gusts of 30 to 50 mph expected statewide and up to 60 mph gusts along the Jersey Shore in Monmouth and Ocean counties.
