U.S. Air Force Says UK Units Remain Vigilant
A U.S. Air Force spokesperson told Reuters that the 501st Combat Support Wing and other units based in Britain remained vigilant and would take appropriate steps to protect military personnel, civilian staff, contractors and their families.
The spokesperson said protective measures were continually assessed but declined to disclose specific force-protection arrangements.
The statement did not confirm reports that RAF Fairford had moved to FPCON Delta, the highest U.S. military force-protection condition.
Explosives Investigation Prompts Evacuations
Gloucestershire Constabulary said several men had been arrested on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act.
