San Antonio private school earns No. 1 college prep ranking

A San Antonio private school with nearly eight decades of history is getting some new recognition.

The school is leading local rankings for college prep, STEM and diversity. Keystone School was named the No.

1 private high school for college prep in both the San Antonio area and Bexar County by Niche, according to a news release.

The school also ranked No. 5 in Texas and No. 52 out of 3,986 schools nationwide for college prep.

The ranking considers several factors tied to college readiness, including academics, student experience, college outcomes and opportunities for advanced coursework. Keystone also took the No.

1 spot locally for best high school for STEM, most diverse private high school and most diverse private K-12 school.

“While we’re happy to receive this recognition, we’re most proud of the way our students, faculty, staff, families, and alumni embody a commitment to excellence in all they do,” Keystone Head of School Billy Handmaker said in the release.
