CNN Barred From Traveling With Trump on Tennessee Trip

CNN reporters have been barred from traveling with U.S. President Donald Trump on his trip to Tennessee on Saturday, marking a new restriction on the network’s access.

CNN had been scheduled to serve as the television network in the rotating White House press pool traveling with the president. However, the White House schedule released Friday did not include CNN or any major television network in the rotation.

Instead, the schedule listed Lindell TV, a pro-Trump outlet operated by businessman and presidential ally Mike Lindell, as the “Secondary TV” correspondent and crew.

Court Previously Restored White House Access

The move follows Trump’s attempt to bar CNN, MS NOW and Politico from the White House over coverage he described as consistently negative.

A judge subsequently ordered the outlets’ access temporarily restored, finding that the administration’s restrictions were likely unconstitutional. That ruling concerned access to the White House complex and did not specifically address travel aboard the presidential press pool.

CNN declined to comment, while the White House did not immediately respond to a request for clarification.
