Trans Activists Stage Mass Hormone Injection Outside NYU Langone

Transgender-rights activists staged a public “mass hormone injection” outside NYU Langone Health in New York City to protest the hospital system’s decision to stop providing gender-transition medical care to minors.

Video from the demonstration showed masked participants preparing syringes and injecting themselves with hormone-replacement medications as supporters held signs reading “Protect Trans Kids” and “Resist.”

Protest Follows Federal Settlement

The protest followed NYU Langone’s settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice, under which the hospital agreed to stop providing puberty blockers, hormone treatments and gender-transition surgeries to patients under 18.

NYU Langone also agreed to pay $8.5 million to resolve allegations involving billing for the treatments. The hospital denied wrongdoing and said the settlement protected the privacy of patients, guardians and medical providers while avoiding prolonged litigation.

Gender-related mental-health services for minors and gender-transition care for adults will continue.
