Two Arrested After Mysteriously Emerging From New York City Sewer

Two people were arrested after they were reportedly seen climbing out of New York City’s underground sewer system.

Authorities have not disclosed their identities, the location of the arrest or the charges they may face.

Similar Incidents Reported Across NYC

The arrests follow a series of unusual sightings involving people entering or emerging from manholes across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens.

Police previously said some individuals may have entered the sewer system to search for valuables or scrap metal.

New York City officials warned that unauthorized entry into sewers is illegal and extremely dangerous because of toxic gases, unstable surfaces, confined spaces and the risk of sudden flooding.
