Flood watch for San Juans as showers & rain is expected for western Colorado until this weekend

A Flood Watch is in effect for the San Juans counties from noon until midnight Thursday evening.

There will be some thunderstorms that drop heavy rain that can lead to flash flooding, especially around creeks, streams, rivers, canyons, and burn scars.

Some storms can have rainfall rates of over an inch per hour. Be weather aware and have ways to receive weather alerts.

Don’t go through flood waters with your car, instead turn around and don’t drown! Today, mostly cloudy with afternoon scattered showers and thunderstorms.

Showers and thunderstorms capable of producing heavy rain, gusty outflow winds, flash flooding, and hail. High temperatures ranging in the low to high 70s.

Overnight to morning low temperatures ranging from high 40s to high 50s. Thursday, possible periods of rain or showers and thunderstorms especially for southern Colorado.
