Woman arrested after stabbing in Elko, Nevada

Woodford is now facing charges of battery with a deadly weapon.

A woman has been arrested after police say she stabbed another person in Elko.

The Elko Police Department says that at around 6:45 p.m. on Sunday, officers responded to 398 Hot Springs Road in Elko for reports of a stabbing.

The suspect, identified as Shaina Woodford, was reportedly seen walking on West Main Street, where she was detained and interviewed by police.

They say Woodford and the victim had been involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation in which a stabbing occurred.
