Officers then pinned the car at the intersection of Florence Blvd. and Rivermont Road. The driver being chased then reportedly shot at officers.
One officer was struck as well as a female bystander.
Lauderdale County Sheriff Joe Hamilton told WAFF the suspect led officers on a short chase, which began and ended on U.S. 72.
The suspect fired shots, with an officer shot and wounded in the shoulder, Hamilton said.
Both were brought to North Alabama Medical Center for evaluation.
