Female Channel Nine staffer recalls Chris Smith exposing his penis at Artarmon party in Sydney

A former Nine Network colleague has accused embattled broadcaster Chris Smith of exposing his genitals and shoving her against a wall during an office party 24 years ago.

Sally, not her real name, alleged that Smith had her zipper unzipped during a farewell party when she finished her stint on Channel Nine’s flagship show A Current Affair in Artarmon, Sydney in 1998, saying that he only received a “slap on the wrist”. ‘ for it.

The new allegations came after Smith, 60, was dramatically sacked from his role as a television presenter on Sky News Australia and from his radio show on 2GB this week.

It was alleged that he was drunk and misbehaved with women at a Sky Christmas party last weekend.

The media personality has since apologized ‘profusely’ to the women he hurt this month, admitting he had an alcohol problem that makes him ‘manic’.

The official told the daily telegraph Smith approached her while “a bit drunk” at a Channel Nine saying goodbye to her and two other colleagues, the show’s lead producer Fiona McKenzie and reporter Michael Willesee Jr.

Smith was her chief of staff at A Current Affair at the time, while she was the youngest worker in the office after landing her network job right out of college.

The show’s employees gathered for the revelry in the network’s lavish third-floor boardroom.

We were in that boardroom. We were all having drinks and relaxing and I was in the middle of it all when Chris came staggering and staggering towards me, clearly already a little drunk,” he said.

“I’m paraphrasing here, but he said something like ‘I want to fuck you, you’re fucking hot’ and then I look down, his pants zipper is unzipped and his penis is hanging out.

She claimed she was surprised at the time and tried to get away from Smith and turned a corner, but he followed her.

A woman alleged that Smith unzipped at a staff farewell party as she was wrapping up her stint on Channel Nine’s flagship show A Current Affair in Artarmon, Sydney in 1998.

“There he pushed me against the wall, still with his penis dangling, his drunken breath on my face, continuing to tell me how much he wanted me,” he alleged.

The woman said she pushed him, fled across the room, and told the show’s receptionist what had happened.

She said Smith then came and staggered over the couple, still with his genitals exposed, before she told him to zip up, which he didn’t.

The staff member then called a passing senior colleague to help him, who reportedly saw Smith’s exposed genitalia and grabbed him by the neck before leading him out of the boardroom.

The woman said she still has a photographic memory of the event because it was so distressing and she remembers breaking out in a cold sweat and shivering.

To his surprise, the staffer told the Daily Telegraph that Smith was never fired for the incident, but only received a “slap on the wrist”.

She said she was banned from going to the Channel Nine bar and had her car taken away for six months.

He added that he did not speak about the incident because he feared it would affect his career, claiming that the rumors about the terrible incident affected his attempts to get a good job in the industry.

Smith was demoted from his role as chief of staff on Nine Network’s A Current Affair after the incident, but was caught again.

The TV commentator was temporarily suspended while working at 2GB after the station’s 2009 Christmas party.

It is alleged that he behaved inappropriately with several women and attempted to kiss a female colleague.

The story of Smith’s indiscretions has surfaced again after he attended Sky’s New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Ivy Sunroom in Sydney last weekend before heading to the nearby establishment with colleagues.

It was there that he was accused of inappropriately touching a co-worker and making rude comments to several others.

The comments allegedly brought a colleague to tears at the Sky News party, and he was beaten by a co-worker due to his offensive behaviour.

He allegedly grabbed a female colleague from behind, prompting her to tell him to fuck off, according to a Sky News employee.

He also reached out to a woman and creepily commented on one of her Instagram photos from a vacation, saying she “had a lot of side tits.”

Three days after his inappropriate behaviour, Mr Smith was sacked by Sky News Australia and 2GB.

It was the third time he has received an official reprimand for inappropriate conduct in his 40-year career.

Smith apologized for his conduct, which he attributed to long-standing problems with alcohol and bipolar disorder, and checked himself into a mental health facility.

“I have a recurring problem with alcohol… it makes me manic,” he said in a statement.

“I am in a facility receiving professional help to conclusively treat my alcohol abuse and resolve this once and for all, no qualifications…it can and will be done.”
