Venezuela breaks diplomatic relations with Paraguay

Here is the English translation of this statement:

Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela
Statement

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela categorically rejects the statements made by the President of Paraguay, Santiago Peña, who, ignoring international law and the principle of non-intervention, repeats a failed practice reminiscent of the political fantasies of the defunct Lima Group with its ridiculous adventure called Guaidó.

These actions represent a rehash of strategies lacking political, legal, or social foundation, which have demonstrated their resounding failure. It is regrettable that governments like that of Paraguay continue to subordinate their foreign policy to the interests of foreign powers, promoting agendas aimed at undermining democratic principles and the will of free peoples.

In this context, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela has decided, in the full exercise of its sovereignty, to sever diplomatic relations with the Republic of Paraguay and proceed with the immediate withdrawal of its accredited diplomatic personnel in that country.

The Bolivarian Government reaffirms its commitment to the defense of democracy, peace, and the self-determination of peoples, principles essential to the Charter of the United Nations, and reiterates that no farce dictated by international fascism will succeed in bending the will of a people determined to build their own destiny.
