NEW YORK — May 2025:
Legendary singer-songwriter Billy Joel has canceled all scheduled concerts through July 2026, including highly anticipated summer performances at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field.

The 76-year-old music icon revealed he has been diagnosed with Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH) — a neurological condition that affects brain function and can cause walking difficulties, memory issues, and balance problems.

Joel, known for classics like Piano Man and Uptown Girl, said in a statement:

“It’s a tough decision, but my health must come first. I’m grateful for the support of my fans and hope to be back as soon as possible.”

Fans who purchased tickets for upcoming shows will receive full refunds, according to event organizers.

What Is NPH?

Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus is a condition caused by excess fluid in the brain, leading to symptoms that often resemble Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. It is treatable if diagnosed early, typically involving surgical intervention.

Joel had recently wrapped his historic Madison Square Garden residency earlier this year, marking an end to one of the most iconic live performance runs in music history.
