Birmingham Star Flyer ride ‘collapses’ with several injured at Christmas fair as police issue update

A ride has “collapsed” at a Christmas fairground in Birmingham, leaving “a small number of people” injured, police have confirmed.

Birmingham Police issued an update saying officers rushed to Centenary Square this evening following reports of an issue with one of the rides, namely the Star Flyer. Images shared online showed seats tangled on the ride and police confirmed “a small number” of people are being treated by paramedics at the scene.
