Isak Andic, the billionaire founder of the Mango fashion chain, died in a mountain accident on Saturday, Sky News reports, according to news.ro.
The 71-year-old businessman is believed to have slipped and fallen from a 150-meter cliff while hiking with relatives in the Monserrat caves near Barcelona, a police spokesman said.
His family called emergency services at around 12:30 p.m. local time, according to Spanish newspaper El Pais.
A helicopter and ambulance were sent, but they confirmed his death on arrival at the scene.
Isak Andic, who was non-executive chairman of Mango, was born in Istanbul, Turkey, and moved to Spain in the 1960s before founding Mango in 1984.
Andic was the richest man in Catalonia and one of the richest in Spain, with Forbes estimating his worth at $4.5 billion.
