A man has died after multiple people were stabbed during a reported knife rampage at a busy street market in London this morning.
Metropolitan Police have launched an investigation following a fatal stabbing in Walworth, Southeast London, with police called to the scene at around 10.40am. Officers attended East Street Market with the London Ambulance Service after a man, believed to be aged in his 60s, was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.
The Met added that three injured people were found, one of whom was the man who died at the scene. The service confirmed that enquiries are under way to confirm his identity and inform his family. Two other people – a man and a woman – were taken to hospital for treatment, with officers now awaiting an assessment of their condition.
